Portland ME Hotel Guest Comments

“Just returned from first visit to Portland, Maine. Stayed at the Residence Inn in downtown Portland near the waterfront. Can't say enough about how great this hotel was. It is a new building providing wonderful accomodations from the rooms themselves to the food offered at the complimentary breakfast to the terrific people staffing the front desk.“

“This hotel offered quality and services beyond those typically expected. The rooms were new, spacious, and excellently appointed with a comfortable bed and furniture, quality appliances (refrigerator, microwave, cooktop), big bathroom / shower area, and large flat screen TV. The hotel also offers social hours in the evening with a free buffet that could easily substitute for dinner.“

“We were staying a few days in Portland and wanted a good "home base," from which we could walk to explore the sights and tastes of the city. With TripAdvisor's help, we settled on the Residence Inn Downtown/Waterfront, which turned out to be an excellent choice. We found we could easily walk to a large variety of restaurants and attractions within 5 to 10 minutes. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service that took us to places outside of our walking range - we didn't use commerical taxis or Uber at any time during our stay. Their shuttle service also provided us with round trip service to Portland's airport.

This Residence Inn is relatively new, so the decor and furnishings are in mint condition. They have all the premium features found in other Residence Inns we've stayed in: indoor pool, fitness center, bar, and a complete kitchen in all their suites. Overall, we found their personal service level to be first-rate, to include the efficient management of their very goo“
